During my first stay in Cebu (a few years back) I was just looking for a basic hotel with a central location for two nights as I was traveling on to Davao by boat later on. I picked the Hotel Eddie, a smaller budget hotel in the center of town. It's clean and basic with a good location. At the time of my stay a night was just about 1300 Piso with a discount from Asia Travel website.
To my disappointment Asia Travel did not forward my reservation for the hotel room, but they still had rooms available and gave me the cheapest discount rate available. (Based on this and other negative experiences with Asia Travel, I will never use this online travel agent again. Just my personal choice after bad trips with them.) All in all I had a cheap hotel that was worth the money as I was able to sleep well and saved some money. I always thought that most Cebu hotel rooms are way overpriced. Hotel Eddie is a nice exception to that rule. Hotel Eddie has been renamed to Beverly Boutique Hotel. It's located close to Cebu City nitelife venues like Papillon Bar and Dimples as well as Mango Square. It's also close to downtown shopping centers like Robinsons. Unfortunately, I could not find any more images of this hotel.
